No tallies today. Went to see play called "MacHomer: The Simpsons do Macbeth" (which was really really funny. this one guy did all the voices of numerous Simpsons characters and had nice hand-drawn cels to help the audience visualize the scenes.) so the times/visitors would be screwed up.
Instead I bring you:

A Little Excerpt called Subaru, Hokuto, Sei-chan, and Me.

Today I went to go see if I could find my squirrels from last semester (Subaru, Sei-chan, and Hokuto.) Anyway I found the black Subaru and Hokuto hanging by their usual tree, and thankfully the huge grey Sei-chan is nowhere in sight. (That squirrel scares the hell out of me.) I start making clicking noises with my tongue to convince the black squirrels to come closer. Hokuto is too busy burrying nuts but Subaru-kun responds and hops over to me. He does his cute stand on his hind legs hop and his pawing the air thing that I love so much. So I kneel down on the grass and try to make him come even closer. By now Hokuto has finished with her burrying and slowly comes over to see what's going on. When all of the sudden, this dark grey ball of fluff races down the tree trunk and comes charging at me.
Why it's friendly ole Sei-chan. She gives me her usual hiss and I back away. And the damn thing actually chases me. Subaru follows behind for a while but then turns around. So I'm trying to walk out of the mall (grassy area) and Sei-chan is trailing my every move.
After I get halfway down the mall, this goth girl notices and asks. "Is that squirrel following you?"
I say "Yeah."
She says, "Why? Do you have food?"
I say, "No."
She says, "So why is it chasing after you."
I reply, "She doesn't like when I talk to that other black squirrel over there. I think she's jealous."
Of course, she laughs. And the squirrel continues to follow me and hiss until I cross the street, where upon it turns back around and returns to the other two black squirrels.
I tell you the squirrels at my university are SCREWY!

Speaking of the squirrels, Subaru-kun managed to put on a little wait. He's still way too skinny but not devastatingly so.

I also got this nifty little Tobacco Hornworm from my Entomology class. We get to watch it turn into a Sphynx Moth after two months. In my usual pattern of naming strange things, I have named this insect Oedipus. He's tiny green and has this skinny black horn on his back end. He's not that cute, but he's a pet so I don't really care. And I even get to keep him in my dorm (being that he's only about 1/4 inch long.)

 
Oh I finally got a job in DAMN FOOD SERVICE at the Diner. Oh well, it pays $7 an hour and I only opted to work for three days out of the week. That should guarantee my at least $100 a month to spend on whatever I wish. I negotiated the manager down from the 1 AM that he wanted to give me by explaining that I would die if I did those hours. So now all I have to do is buy this stupid black shirt for my uniform. It shouldn't be that bad. Except for game nights at the university when the dining hall will be packed. I just hope the manager takes my advice and lets me work the cash register. I like that a whole lot more than food preparation.

And to make my life even worse, I just learned of the happenings at my house. Apparently, my mother has pneumonia and my sister's having problems of some kind. Of course, my brother is bouncing off the walls and having a nervous break-down while my father tries to maintain some semblance of sanity as he watches my little niece. Why is nothing in my life ever stable?

Now, to print out some copies of my stupid chapter for my Creative Writing workshop. I think I'll print most of them at home and then copy $5 worth or something.

On the subject of school annoyances, my Econ class is going to suck. Our discussion comes right after the lecture and is taught by the same foreign professor who does nothing but confuse the heck out of me for 2 hrs. Then there's this smarty-pants student who has to argue with everything he says. He's the only one majoring in economics. I even have a mini-quote from him, which I will post after this. Thankfully, there's also this girl who sits in the front row who's kind enough to sum up everything for the rest of the class since all the prof does is ask twenty-thousand times if we understand. What does he want us to say? Fuck no! This class is going to give me nightmares.

Finally, people have started to send me responses to my requests to use their Sorashi fics. So that means that I will be able to do a decent update this weekend. Now, all I have to decide is whether I want to table stuff or not. I'm still not sure about it since there's no reason other than to give the page a different look.

-Subaru was kind of bleh. I guess S/K fans would really like this episode though I feel that it was done much better in the manga. And the manga didn't have to make Subaru bleed out his ears or suffer other grevious injuries inside Kamui's conscience. Plus, there were waaaaay too many feathers. What are feathers doing in Kamui's conscience? I suppose we could go with the cliched comment about someone being an airhead. And Subaru looks far too spaced out most of the time.
-But I did enjoy how sad Sora-chan looked.
-Fuuma and Kakyou scenes freak me out sometimes. I'm still not sure how Kakyou's supposed to communicate with Fuuma out of his dream world when he's still in a coma. But Fuuma's so mean to poor Kakyou. Bad Fuuma. Go molest Kamui!
-And Kamui is such a sneaky little devil-brat. Being all slow about hugging Subaru after he passes out. We're onto you, Kamui.

Speaking of X and other anime downloads, how come the disk I borrowed from Celes decided to die on me before I could watch them. Dang. No Fruits Basket or x12 for me. Damn you CD writer. And damn you CD player for getting skuz all over my Celine Dion and Monster Ballads cds. I had to clean both the CDs and the player just to fix them.

 
Onto other topics, I'm trying to get a job but it will require me to work until 1 AM three days out of the week. It's also in food service again, which I HATE. But I need the money and all of my other opportunities (Pandora's, Book Store, Book Exchange) pewtered out on me. So now if I want to stay in college and support my anime addiction, I need to deal with the trouble of a job serving food to the students residing at the dorms. I just know the job is going to require me to clean stuff. Yuck!

I'm also trying to get a small job doing office work with my Community Center. It doesn't pay much, but it should be easy and I have some spare time. Only problem: When does that leave me time for writing? Wah! Well there's always home.

 
Well, I suppose I died again temporarily but now I will back to my normal blogging schedule.

I just started my new courses and most of them piss me off. I can't understand a word my Econ teacher says since his accent is too thick. My entomology teacher sounds a bit uppity to me. I would like my Asian Arts class but the professor bores me to tears when he goes on about school requirements and how he teachers. He never gets around to talking about actual art until the last few minutes of class.

Thankfully, my new Journalism teacher is much better than my old one and though it looks like I will have a lot of work, I don't think I will hate the class. Journalism and the Media actually interests me. Too bad the books are so damn expensive. Not as expensive as the Asian Arts book. $80 on discount! Yeesh!

I even like my new fiction writing workshop. The professor seems to really enjoy writing and wants to impart that enthusiasm to the rest of his class. Too bad, most of the class is skittish about writing, though they claim to enjoy it. Either they are shy of having someone view their work (same as me) or they are just getting into writing and aren't ready to jump right into a critique just yet. There were a few that seemed that they could actually be writers though. But most were hesitant, especially when the professor required that we all buy 5 X 7 notebooks to keep a journal of our ideas. When he said that he wanted 20pgs every two weeks, half of the class got very stressed. They seem to think of the journal as a personal diary instead of a writing journal.

The one thing that does annoy me about the class is that we are required to submit 3 pieces of our work (either stories or chapters from novels) to be "workshopped" or critiqued and responded to by the whole class. I have two problems with this. First, I do not have the money to print out 21 copies of a 12pg chapter. Two, my writing is too long and the professor wants it to be double-spaced as well. I don't know if I can manage that. To make things worse, I have to go first since I made the huge mistake of mentioning that I was working on a chaptered novel sometime during the class. I think it had something to do if asking if we could just put dialogue excerpts in our journal since that's what I've always done in the past. After that when nobody volunteered to go first, the professor requested that I should since I already have pieces ready. I don't like this at all. I don't mind people reading my stuff when I can't see them. But having someone responding to it at a visible distance is creepy to a VERY shy person like me.

I guess the good thing is since I already kind of use a writer mentality on my own, the extra work won't be hard. The only thing I'll have to work at is responding to the short stories we have to read for the week. I have never been a big fan of short stories.

Which brings me to my last gripe of this post. SCHOOL BOOKS COST WAY TOO MUCH!!!!

 
Sorry. Not dead. Just been spending way too much time with my family which could force anyone into an incapacitated state. Basically, they don't let me use the computer until night and it always freezes anyway. So I'll rant more later. Probably the day before I go back to school. But in the meantime....

Things I Hate about X12

1. NOKORU? (Celes : He looks like he belongs in the Civil War with a musket or something.)
2. Where are Kakyou's golden kitty eyes? He's supposed to look like a refined version of Yue. He needs his kitty eyes!
3. What happened to crazy Kotori with disembodied head?
4. Kakyou's hair is too short! (noticed by Celes)
5. Kakyou isn't supposed to defile himself by touching Kotori.
6. Since when can Sorata run faster than Subaru (Celes: It must be all that smoking.)
7. Kakyou & Subaru wear the same white trench-coat. What is it supposed to represent? (Celes: Anorexic Chic) Or maybe Kakyou's just trying to look like Subaru because of his whole obsession with Hokuto thing
8. Fuuma is supposed to torture Kamui waaay longer. I want my F/K angsty sadomaschochism dammit!
9. See #3 and replace "Kotori" with "Kamui."
10. It looks like it took the X8 manga and hit fast-forward.
